Say Good Bye to a Decade

It’s almost the end of the year; when we remember the year past and ring in the new year, but in 2009 it’s also time to say good bye to a very trying decade. The World was a daunting place to live, work, grow, dance, raise families, start dreams and be hopeful for our future.

Between the wars, terrorism, Hurricance Katrina, the Bubbles (credit, housing, financial etc), climate changes, International Seas Pirates & Kidnapping, and so much more…how much more can a civilization take? But we made it didn’t we?

The Arts has also suffered tremendously, from losing public and charitable funding, to losing so many people to death (this year alone), being creative has been a tough prospect. Still yet, throughout one of the toughest decades in my memory, Dance has withstood.

Dance is a refuge to so many people, it’s their creative outlet, hobbies, careers, rejuvenation, inspiration and business; may Dance live long and flourish as Art and as Business.

As a life long enthusiast and admirer of Dance I truly wish the ‘Industry’ of Dance evolves and grows in many more trajectories than what Primetime Entertainment has done with it and wish all of the Dance entrepreneurs much success.

As an unseen background person, enjoying dance, attending workshops and conventions, patronizing Dance Theatre and performances, I was always impressed with the business from a far. Having both The Rhythm Lounge and The Hustle Lounge websites reach a small amount of success has afforded me some wonderful recognition, friendships and business opportunities as well as a peek inside.

Some of what I have experienced has been disappointing but most of my experiences have been phenomenal, inspiring and life changing. I have been blessed with amazing relationships and I have to thank everyone who has supported me and both of the sites over the last 2 years. Especially those who have offered their unwavering support, financial support and general good faith and friendship.

I’m sure you’ve all noticed some changes here and I can tell you there will be more as we learn and evolve the model for how we run The Rhythm Lounge. I want to personally thank all of the promoters, companies and professionals who contributed to a fabulous year as well as all of the individuals who contributed and helped The Rhythm Lounge grow leaps and bounds.

Thank you all, we wish you a very successful 2010 and look forward to a fresh new decade with all of our readers, friends, supporters, Business Development partners and the Dance Industry as a whole.

Good Bye to 2009…Hello to a new decade.
